MADRID European Masters Indoor Athletics

This winter’s EMAC indoor championship event is being held in the Spanish Capital of Madrid. All of the indoor track events will take place at the Gallur Municipal Sports Centre located just outside the city centre. This will be the third time Spain will host this competition after the successes in San Sebastián in 2003 and 2013. Direct flights from UK airports and a choice of 2, 3 & 4* hotels are offered.

Gold Coast Games 4-15 April 2018

The next edition of the "Friendly Games" is in Australia’s Gold Coast, which is sure to be an attractive destination as it provides the ideal opportunity to combine a great holiday with watching sport - already 225+ fans have registered to attend the Gold Coast Games as part of the T&FT group.

Track & Field Tours Experience at the “Friendly Games” – 30+ years and counting….

Our staff and company have arranged tours to every Games since 1986 – no other sports tour operator can match this experience with the Gold Coast event being the 9^th edition we have organised groups to.

To date this has seen us operating on 4 continents in city locations as diverse as Auckland, Delhi, Kuala Lumpur and Victoria in addition to the UK and previous events in Australia. In this time the Games has grown from being akin to a jolly village fete to the spectacular professional sports festival it is today and we, of course, have grown and adapted too.

During this period Track & Field Tours was recognised as an official agent for both the 2002 Manchester Games and the 2014 Glasgow Games where arrangements were made for 600+ clients on both occasions. And for the most recent Games in Australia at Melbourne in 2006 we made arrangements for 200+ fans at what was a fabulous event organised with great style by our Australian hosts and which is sure to be the same for the 2018 edition.

At the Glasgow Commonwealth Games our exclusive T&FT Games Party in the spectacular Corinthian Club saw 20+ athletes and Games medalists join our hundreds of clients for a wonderful event celebration. In Delhi in 2010 who can forget Will Sharman’s unique take on Indian dancing and in Melbourne in 2006 the T&FT Welcome Party performance of the Aboriginal group that provided a unique start for group members to the last Games in Australia - imagination backed with experience are the ingredients to the art of Being There!

We are offering package arrangements to the WorldJunior U 20 Championships that are being held in the Finnish city of Tampere in the summer of 2018. As the venue for the 2013 Under 23 European Junior Championships we are familiar with both the city and the Finnish Federation organisers and we have already secured sufficient well priced and well located accommodation for our group of fans and the friends, family and coaches of selected athletes whether British or from other countries too.

WORLD JUNIOR ATHLETICS CHAMPS 2018

TAMPERE / FINLAND 10-15 JULY

More than 2,000 athletes and team officials from more than 180 countries will gather for the 16^th World Junior Championships in Athletics. The 16,500 seats Ratina Stadium has regularly hosted age group championships most recently the European Under 23 event in 2013 to which we organised a group of fans, coaches and family supporters. Spectators will be able to see the world’s very best junior athletes in action. Tampere is Finland’s second largest city and its picturesque location between lakes Nasijarvi and Pyhajarvi offers an enjoyable European break combined with top class Junior athletics.

BERLIN 2018 European Athletics Champs

The Berlin 1936 Olympic Stadium hosts the European Championships for the first time providing an ideal opportunity to visit the ever fascinating German capital. For many regular clients it will be a welcome return to this interesting city that as recently as 2009 hosted the IAAF World Championships at this historic venue. EVENT INFORMATION

WA Athletics Stadium (WAAS)

The WA Athletics Stadium (WAAS), opened in May 2009, is one of Australia’s newest sporting facilities. The new state of the art athletics facilities recently hosted the 88^th Australian National Athletics Championships, and selection trials for the 2010 Commonwealth Games took place at WAAS in 2010. The venue was designed and built to international standards, and has recently been resurfaced by Mondo, ensuring athletes’ maximum performance.

All non-stadia events (with the exception of the marathon and half marathon), event village and TIC are within walking distance from WAAS.

The first two hotels are located in the heart of the city centre just within 10 minutes walk from each other. The third is situated on the west side of the city closest to the main competition stadium. The prices for these hotels are per room per night and are based on room only (breakfast payable locally).

Offering a swimming pool, bar and secure parking, this hotel is located in the heart of Perth CBD surrounded by theatre and shopping districts. Guests enjoy free access to the nearby health club. We are offering three hotel properties to cater for varying budgets. All three hotels are located in the city centre each are just a short walk to the very efficient metro system. The metro (Line 2) that serves all three hotels is the most direct line to the stadium, with shuttle bus transfers completing the final part of the journey. The good news is that ALL Public Transportation, including the Metro and stadium shuttle buses are FREE to competing athletes. Spain will hold the World Masters Athletics Championship in beautiful Malaga on the Mediterranean coast. This property is a 7 minutes walk from the beach. Situated next to Malaga Train Station, the stylish Hotel Sercotel Málaga offers free WiFi throughout the property. All air-conditioned rooms feature wooden floors. They include a flat-screen TV and the private bathroom comes with a hairdryer. The beach and city centre attractions, such as the Picasso Museum and cathedral, are a 20-minute walk away. There is a supermarket and shops next to the hotel. The hotel has a gastrobar offering traditional Andalusian cuisine. Located just a 3 minute walk to the Metro (Lines 1 & 2) and 5 stops/15 minutes to the main stadium.

This property is 15 minutes walk from the beach in the Larios Shopping Centre, next to Málaga’s AVE High-Speed Train Station. It offers a fitness centre and air-conditioned rooms with satellite TV and free Wi-Fi connection. A buffet breakfast is served daily in the hotel’s restaurant. There is also a variety of restaurants both within Larios Shopping Centre and in the surrounding streets. Located just an 8 minute walk to the Metro (Lines 1 & 2) and 6 stops to the main stadium.

4* GRAN HOTEL CERVANTES (Torremolinos Beach)

This property is 4 minutes walk from the Bajondillo Beach and centrally located in Torremolinos. It offers a rooftop heated pool and a sauna, indoor pool and gym. Bright, air-conditioned rooms are soundproofed and feature a satellite TV. A buffet breakfast is offered and room service is available. There is a lobby bar with live music, and you can dine by the pool. Torremolinos Bus and Train Stations are only 350 yards away. The main Malaga stadium is a ‘free’ 30 minute public bus journey away and the Torremolinos track is a short 15 minute walk from the hotel.

LILLE 2017 European Athletics Team Champs

The 2017 European Athletics Team Championships in Lille, France

We are offering a choice of package durations to the EATC with the top 12 European nations competing in a joint men and women’s competition. The EAA has decided that there will now be heats for the 100m, 200m, 400m plus 100m / 110m / 400m Hurdles events on the Friday evening rather than the two “time trials” of recent years subject to variable conditions for these events with athletes then ranked by time. The qualifiers from the Friday heats will then graduate to “finals” in these events on the Saturday & Sunday along with the other track events. The field events will also be spread over the 3 sessions in order to showcase these in an improved format.

Our package’s programme schedule includes a Lille Bus & Walking Tour plus an optional Ypres First World War battlefield, museums & memorials excursion Tour - with 2017 the centenary of the battle of Passchendaele this tour includes visiting the museum, memorials and trenches there. Plus the famous “behind the lines” Talbot House in Poperinge and the “In Flanders Field museum” in Ypres. Clients can choose to either depart Ypres late afternoon to return to the UK that day or ideally stay for that evening’s moving Menin gate “Last Post” remembrance ceremony which will require booking a package staying in Lille until 27 June.

BYDGOSZCZ European U23 Athletics Champs 2017

The 11^th European Athletics Junior U23 Championships are being held in the Polish city of Bydgoszcz. The Zdzisław Krzyszkowiak Stadium played host to last year’s European Junior U20 Championships in a newly re-built 21,000 seated stadium. For this event we coordinated an enjoyable travel programme for many athlete’s families and athletics’ fans. Many of the athletes at this event will compete again at this year’s London 2017 World Championships. The city’s picturesque location on the Brda and Vistula Rivers offers an enjoyable European break combined with top class athletics.

Different duration of stay can be catered for, as we appreciate individual travel requirements will vary.

Direct flights from the UK to Bydgoszcz are limited. Ryainair operates a ‘daily service’ from only London Stansted airport. Other direct flights are from Birmingham and Glasgow but these are not daily (see flight days below). There are also indirect services from Heathrow and Manchester with Lufthansa via Frankfurt, but again is not a daily service (see below). If flights do not operate on your preferred travel date/s or looking for possibly a cheaper airfare an alternative could be to fly direct from Stansted, Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds Bradford, Manchester or Edinburgh into Gdansk Airport and take the train to Bydgoszcz (2 hours). GROSSETO European Junior U20 Athletics Champs

The Stadio Olimpico Carlo Zecchini has played host to some of the biggest names in Paralympic sport at the IPC European Athletics Championships this summer but the Tuscan city has also provided the first glimpse of some of the biggest stars of the sport. Grosseto staged the 2004 World Junior Championships where Olympic champions Michelle Carter and Kerron Clement were crowned along with world 110m hurdles record-holder Aries Merritt and home favourite Andrew Howe.
