Having won the Decathlon at the 1980 Olympics in Moscow Daley defended his title in Los Angeles in 1984 with a WR score of 8847 points. From 1978 – 1986 he won 8 major titles and was the most complete multi-event athlete of his time – and a good whistler at medal ceremonies too!
